OUR PROCESS
Our work is a process, from sourcing the rarest woods, to the fine details. Tony will work with you through the entire process to ensure that your piece is truly one-of-a-kind.
Tony Dodd
The wood Dodd finds or reclaims comes with its own provenance. He then transforms it into a one-of-a-kind piece of furniture. Each stack of wood has a unique history.
Rare Finds and History
Antique cypress boards salvaged from pickle vats dating back to the 1890's; lumber from an old cotton warehouse in Galveston; 'sinker' logs that have lain on the bottom of the Chattahoochee River for 100 years and heart pine and oak beams from condemned houses.
Triple D Process
Dodd's Skill and vision fuel his passion to transform this vast wood collection into magnificent furnishings. His enthusiasm shows from his precise work to his excited expression finding a treasure within an old tree's odd-shaped growth. "There's burl inside there."
It's all in the Dovetails
Our construction is the old way, with mortise-tendon joints and hand cut dovetails. The dovetail is the strongest joint used in furniture making and has been used since Egyptian times.
Wood Collection
Dodd collects many types of wood; heart pine, cypress, red oak,black walnut, burled maple and pecan. Along the back porch stacks of wood are ready to be shaped.
Wood is Not Dead
Dodd believes wood still moves. Wood is still alive, it expands within the grain, depending on the humidity. We take this 'life' into account when we attempt to fashion durable pieces. Tony Dodd's woodworking shop has a charm that goes beyond the stained glass walls and rusty signs that hang on its walls. Located between Graceville and Bonifay Florida, his works are built from old woods that have endured the ages.

From dressers with hand-cut dovetails to dining tables with hand-rubbed oil finishes, Tony crafts furniture of all shapes, sizes and types of wood. Each piece is made to order for a Triple 'D' customer. Tony will work with you, from any drawing or picture, to design a piece of furniture that fits your style, compliments your setting, and meets your home's dimensional needs. The furniture can be crafted from his ample and diverse wood supply - including heart pine, black walnut, maple, cherry, oak, pecan, deadhead cypress, or he'll use wood you supply. By combining colors and types of woods, Tony can create one-of-a-kind pieces for your home, office or restaurant.
